Learn MoreAbout Who We Are

The Darcy J. Foundation’s mission is to serve mothers and their families in local communities, inspiring them to live healthier lives, to support education and to get involved in their communities.

The Darcy J. Foundation, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008 by Darcy S. Johnson, a young man who understood the struggles of single parenthood. His mission was to give children a role model and educate families on the importance of healthy parenting; physically, emotionally, and socially.

His vision brought community events and programs that catered to those in his home town of Palatka, Florida.

Today, The Darcy J. Foundation not only serves his home town, but has expanded its efforts to Central and South Florida communities, and has served more than 10,000 moms and their families from Broward, Orange, Seminole, and Putnam Counties, through its Healthy Living and Twice the Love Programs, Back to School Fun Days and more.

The Darcy J. Foundation is governed by an active 10-member volunteer board of directors that represent the entire State of Florida. We partner with various community businesses, other foundations and schools to furnish our yearly programs and activities.

MeetThe Founders

The Darcy J. Foundation, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008 by Darcy & Carissa Johnson.

Growing up with his mother and siblings, Darcy understood the struggles of single parenthood. As an adult, his mission was to give children a role model and educate families on the importance of healthy parenting; physically, emotionally, and socially.

Carissa developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector, from a young age, as a beneficiary of many youth development programs in her hometown. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life for those in need; one program at a time.

Their vision brought community events and programs that catered to those in their home towns in Florida. This eventually expanded to serving more than 15,000 moms and their families from Broward, Orange, Seminole, and Putnam Counties, through its Road to Success Program, Sports Camps, Back to School Fun Days and more.

Both Darcy & Carissa received degrees from the University Central Florida, as well as a Master’s in Nonprofit Management.
